India Radio Forum - Part III (The Finale)

As always, the momentum does slack a little after lunch. It was no different at the post-lunch session of India Radio Forum 2006. I was expecting to listen to Amar Deb (Channel V), which just didn’t seem to happen. Besides that stray incident, handful of foreign ‘experts’ like Neil Curry (BBC Worldwide) and others had a lot to say about the emerging Radio markets worldwide. Nothing much, except for the realization, that there are other countries in the same predicament as us.

The forum ended in style with cocktails and an awards ceremony, hosted by none other than the infamous Cyrus Broacha (MTV ‘actor’). But honestly, he was hilarious. He brings about a sense of such naturalness in his humor that fellow colleagues like me can but only, put our hands together and bow. So in true comic style – A salute to Cyrus Broacha, you are fat but fortunately you are funnier. So basically, if you can’t be funny, you’d better join a gym. With that, I leave you guys with some interesting photographs from the forum, I especially like the last one. Tuned in eh!

India Radio Forum - Part II

Well, I must say the sessions have been good, actually, really good in fact. Though the presentations were divided into two halls depending on what type of audience the speaker was addressing, it was quite a pleasure to see people trying to understand Branding better. Ten points to young Indians on that. Well, I personally see the future in India lie in Intellectual Property and hence, Branding becomes a strong part of it. Will give you a detailed ring-side view of the forum in the coming days, but would like to leave you with the following few photographs from the lunch session. Tuned in yet?

India Radio Forum - Part I

It’s 9:18 a.m. and here I am punching in my first blog on the inner-workings of Radio in India. As assured, I bring to you guys the first photographs ever published from India’s first radio forum – India Radio Forum 2006. I am here, just before the first sound check and the seat count seems to be an unpromising 260 (the promoters had promised a definitive 400 delegates). Will try and get you more photographs during lunch, from this side of Land’s End (read: Taj Land’s End, Mumbai). Tuned In?
